Greg Grosskopf

My name is Greg Grosskopf. My family became members of SCSC shortly after moving to Eldersburg 8 years ago. We thoroughly enjoy using the pool throughout the summer and have made many family memories at SCSC throughout the years. In addition, we have made many great friends over the years.  I am a Structural Engineer, with a background in construction and project management. I was appointed later during this past summer as the pool and grounds chair.  I have been working hard to embrace the needs of the pool with my skills and knowledge.  If I am officially elected, I believe I will absolutely be able to help maintain and improve the pool grounds, bringing enjoyment to all SCSC families!

Michael von Paris

My name is Mike, my family and I have been members for 3 years now.  We love the pool community and it’s members.  I have been in the IT field since 2004 holding various positions from troubleshooting simple computer problems, to building complex network infrastructures for a business generating millions of dollars a month.  Currently I hold the position of Information Security Manager at Towson University where I manage a team of 4 to monitor the University’s network for malicious threats.

I have 2 children who are involved with dance, soccer and lacrosse that keeps us busy throughout the year, but we are sure to spend as much time at the pool in the summer!  My wife is a teacher at a local elementary school in the area and loves to run into her students when we are at the pool. In my free time, I enjoy biking, swimming and running.  I love to compete in triathlons throughout the year!  I currently manage 2 of my friends’ businesses websites to help them generate web traffic for their business.  If you need a dependable logical down to earth person to help the swim club, I can be an asset to the club!

Jimmy Dudley

I am a United States Army Veteran and currently I am a Senior Construction Manager with D.C. Water. The South Carroll Swim club holds a special place in my heart, it is where my children are happiest each summer. I have years of experience in concrete and landscaping restoration and I am happy to share my expertise to continue to make the pool a safe, family friendly environment.

Jack Daniels

My name is Jack Daniels (yup, that’s my real name) and my family and I have been pool members for four summers and swim team members now for three. I don’t know how we managed before South Carroll Swim Club (and the Serpents), but we are so grateful all year round for our swim family! My wife Megan (recently a swim team parent rep) and I have lived in Eldersburg for over 10 years. Our daughter Peighton, 12 and son Ben, 11, both go to Oklahoma Road Middle School. There’s also a good chance I’ve coached one of your children in either soccer or baseball or my wife has taught one of your kids at Carrolltowne Elementary. I have experience serving on the board of my Homeowner’s Association as Treasurer for quite a few years, I manage an extensive budget for Special Loans and Programs for the state of Maryland (which helps low income families get critical repairs to their homes) and I think I can bring some fresh ideas to SCSC. If you’ve gotten this far, thank you for your time and consideration!

Lauren Bukszar

My name is Lauren Bukszar-I was born and raised in Carroll County. My husband and I live in the Taylorsville area with our four boys. I attended McDonogh School where I swam competitively for the Eagle Swim Team. I have fond memories of early mornings at SCSC for summer swim meets.

My former work experience includes teaching history for Carroll County Public Schools as well as working in independent schools. My current volunteer work includes serving as fund director through the Community Foundation of Carroll County as well as teaching Sunday School at St. Luke’s Church in New Windsor. I hope to make a valuable contribution to the SCSC board.

Jen Morgenthaler

Hi everyone! My name is Jen Morgenthaler. My family and I have been member of South Carroll Swim Club for three years. We have loved our time at the pool and have taken advantage of swim lessons, both group and private. The instructions have worked with our daughter as she works to become part of the swim team.

As a teacher, I always see and focus on the potential. We are a vibrant community of residents who enjoy summer fun and watching our kids grow in size and spirit every year. I would like to help lead South Carroll Swim Club into the future. I have extensive experience with databases – I managed high school science fairs with over 800 projects every year for fifteen years; I manage high school grade books every year; I am the department chair and manage our department budget. I am comfortable with sending group emails and having difficult conversations. I utilize group emails to keep parents informed about grades and activities in my classroom, as well as department members on school and county events.

My family moved into our home six years ago. After years of moving every couple of years, we are happy to have placed down roots in our neighborhood. I grew up in a small town on the Eastern Shore and I appreciate the quieter lifestyle. I am proud of the community that I call home and that includes the swim club. I would love to hear everyone’s ideas on how we can continue to preserve and beautify our summer oasis and then work to see them come to fruition.

Jody Leary

My name is Jody Jordan, born & raised local of Sykesville. I grew up coming to South Carroll as a child and rejoined a few years ago so my own family can have those same fun memories and experiences I did! You could say we are big fans of SCSC and aim to spend any summer poolside. My husband Jesse and I have three children, and we as a family are very active within the local community. I believe some of my past work experience (restaurants, event coordination, project and logistics coordinator) would be an asset to serving on the board, especially in the events or record keeping arenas. I cannot tell you how much my family and I enjoy our days at SCSC and appreciate your consideration!

Nikki Ingallina

Hello! My name is Nikki Ingallina and I am interested in joining the Board of Directors for SCSC.  Our family lives in Winfield and my husband, Nick, and I both grew up in Eldersburg. We have two daughters, Addie (13) and Aubrey (11).  Our family has enjoyed visiting the pool as guests on many occasions!

I own a small bookkeeping firm and have over 20 years of bookkeeping experience.  I am a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor and I have a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Baltimore.  I have experience working in many industries including retail, restaurant, construction and service-based businesses. My clients include several local businesses in our wonderful community.  I am detailed oriented, organized and enjoy working in a team environment.

I also enjoy volunteering at my daughters’ schools, gardening, camping, and especially, cheering on our daughters in their various sports and activities.  I would be honored to sit on the Board and have our family join the SCSC family! Thank you for your consideration!

Scott Larson

My name is Scott Larson and I am interested in becoming a member of the Board of Directors for the South Carroll Swim Club. I have been a resident of Sykesville for the last 3 years, where I live with my wife and 1 year old daughter. My wife spent the majority of her childhood summers at Woodbridge Valley Pool in Catonsville. She remembers her time as part of the pool community and swim team fondly. We would like to provide our daughter with the same opportunity. Shortly after moving here, my wife began talking about which pool to join. We are currently on the waitlist to join South Carroll.

I am the Director of Client Engagement for an Environmental, Energy and Safety Consulting Company. I am also active on the board of directors for the Mid-Atlantic Division of International Erosion Control Association. I understand the commitment that it takes to serve as a board member, and I am willing to put in the time and effort. My various professional experiences in the environmental and construction fields, as well as my business development job responsibilities, could be valuable resources to the board and pool community. I am eager to learn more about volunteering my time as part of the Board of Directors of the South Carroll Swim Club.

Dan Puryear

Dan Puryear is a middle school teacher for Howard County Public School System.  He teaches 7th grade English and is the current 7th grade team leader.  He is currently helping students gain a better appreciation for reading and writing by introducing them to diverse authors and encouraging their curiosity towards the written word. Dan has a Masters degree from McDaniel College in Curriculum and Instruction, and he has an Administrator certificate from McDaniel College.

Before teaching, Dan spent his summers working as a lifeguard and swim instructor.  He taught swim lessons for 10 years at pools in Howard County and Ocean Pines Maryland.  He managed two pools as the Head Guard and passed the Pool Managers course. When Dan is not teaching, he spends most of his time with his wife, two middle school daughters, and two puppies.  He is often outside playing sports, being active with the family, and hanging out by the pool.

Kelly Robinson

My name is Kelly Robinson. My husband and I have two sweet kids and live in the Eldersburg area. I believe being a part of our community is a very important part of our lives and strive to get involved in things especially where my kids are. Currently, I am a tutor and was previously a teacher, so working with others is something I enjoy and feel passionate about. As a child, I was a member of our local community pool and found so much joy being a part of their swim team. I feel strongly about my own children doing the same. They love to swim and have been so happy going to South Carroll Swim Club and making friends there. We as a family find so much value in friendship and helping to make the places we love run smoothly.
